My Favourite Summer Reads
There is nothing more I love than reading and I try to fit it in whenever I can. The summer holidays are the perfect time to take advantage of some of that spare time and sneak in some relaxed reads while basking in the sun. When it isn't school time, I usually lay off the heavy reading and leave room only for fun, light reads. Here are some I've been loving this summer...
January Favourites
One of my New Years resolutions when it came to blogging was to try and get out more monthly favourites post, as my one and only favourites post last year was my most popular post of all time. I've been excited to write this post and have been thinking about it all month long!
Trending: Royal Blue Nails
New In: Windsor Smith 'Hunt' Platforms
As a 5"5 girl, I find myself lusting after anything with height. Platforms are my favourite kind of shoe as they give me the height I'm looking for, but are flat and therefore extremely comfortable. I don't have to think when walking in platforms, and although my collection is building up, I couldn't pass these by.
The Review: Model Co Replenishing Rose Mist
Facial mists are something I've always wanted to try, but the ones available to me were largely ones that are simply spring water and I wasn't willing to make the splurge. A new toner was next on my radar, so when I saw this two in one I was sold.
The Review: Model Co Hydrating Moisturiser
I have been intrigued by Model Co's skincare line since it was launched late last year. However, my skincare routine is quite unchanging, so I just stuck to my regular trusted products. At a friends house when given the opportunity to try it out once off I gave the Model Co Hydrating Day & Night Moisturiser a go and it was love at first application.
MACs 'Fast Play'
I have expressed my love for the 90s lip trend countless times before and have reviewed so many lip liners and lipsticks that I have exhausted the topic. Well, that was until I picked up MACs 'Fast Play' and I knew I had to share this gem, as I haven't heard much on it before.
One Sponge To Rule Them All
As a sponge enthusiast, two words I never thought I'd put together, I can say this sponge does indeed rule them all. A multitude of things come into play when it comes to the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, and all of them together make a must-have makeup tool.
The Review: ChiChi Liquid Lipstick in 'Wild Child'
There is something about the formulation of a liquid lipstick that just excites people, myself included. They are creamy, opaque and often hard to budge - traits that are sought after when it comes to lip products. That's why if I were to recommend one product from Chi Chi Cosmetics to try, it would be their Creamy Matte Liquid Lipsticks.
The Review: Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
Ever since the Maybelline 'Fit Me' concealer was released there have been countless rave reviews on it. Almost weekly I see it pop up in my feed, with people comparing it to the cult favourite NARS creamy concealer. Every time I tried to pick it up for myself, all of the light shades looked much to pale, and it was heartbreaking. On a whim I picked up 110, the lightest shade, and decided to try it out regardless.
This concealer is a great allrounder. It is creamy with great coverage and blends out like a dream without being at all cakey. Because of the colouring for me, it's best when used on my face, as it doesn't brighten the under eyes the way I would have liked it too. If you can get a shade lighter than your skin, however, it would be wonderful under the eyes.
I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good concealer for all of their concealing needs. My only issue with this product is the shade range, as I would love to be able to pick up a lighter shade for under my eyes.
What is your favourite concealer?
Tumblr Inspo #11
It's been an incredibly hot summer week, and as the summer rains come down ruining my potential pool party prospects for the night, I thought I'd sit down and write this post. I missed summer, swimming and the beach so much - which is weird. Never in my life have a been a summer person, until now.
Last summer was so fun that it just set me up for excitement this year. I love swimming and hanging by the pool all day, for days in a row in the middle of heatwaves. It was so relaxing and just made me appreciate the season. The weather has really peaked the last couple weeks, and I've been doing exactly that - spending time by the pool. I think it's clear from my image selections that I've been thinking of the beach and the sea.
Are you a summer baby or a winter lover?
The Review: Maybelline Master Shape Eyebrow Pencil
If I was only allowed to have one product on a desert island, it would have to be something brow related. Needless to say I take my brows seriously, and while I have been a firm powder and brush girl for what seems like forever, I decided to try out some pencils. First came the Rimmel brow pencil, which wasn't right, a Models Prefer pencil which was okay but a little soft and then this - a good in between.
The Review: ChiChi Baked Eyeshadow in 'Call Me'
Single shadows are usually something I try to avoid. There are so many lovely shades I've eyed up, but I hate the clutter and I just don't find myself reaching for them. However, after hearing a few rave reviews on this shadow in particular, I couldn't help but pick it up. Chi Chi are known for their affordable, incredibly pigmented palettes which fill a huge gap in the Australian beauty market, so I knew this would be great.
Resolutions We Can All Work Towards
Setting your own goals and aspirations for the new year is such an incredible and rewarding thing to do. However, I wanted to focus on the small things that might slip under the radar and in the long run really add up, or can impact someone in a negative way. There are so many seemingly small things we could all really work towards, as we all make mistakes, and even if there is no complete resolve to them they are great to be conscious of none the less.
Happy New Year!
