My Go To Festive Makeup Look

When it comes to my Christmas day look, I have to confess I like to keep things quite simple. After all of the excitement of Christmas morning, I don't usually have an hour to spend getting ready as I am the person who sleeps in and holds up the present-giving. The best way to get past the time constraints and still have a put together look, and this can be applied to any ocassion, is a bold lip and graphic eyes.

Using my Lorac Palette, I will be creating a really simple eye look. A light base with a warm brown in the crease for definition - that's it. Next will come some dark, graphic, winged liner with my favourite liner of all time, the Maybelline Master Precise. I find that this takes your look from basic to glam in just a few minutes. Lashings of mascara to open up the eyes as well, of course, and my eyes should be just about done except for a bright inner corner and brow bone highlight. I like to leave the bottom lash line quite bare as well, as it makes my eyes look more bright and awake, which is definitely the look I will want after probably not too much sleep.

For cheeks I will be using Rimmel's 'Santa Rose' blush as the colour won't overwhelm the dark lips and it gives a natural, glowing highlight to the cheeks. For lips, my deep, burgundy lipstick by Sportsgirl in 'Dark Angel' will be the focal point of the look. As it is summer in Australia, I might have to opt for dabbing this into balmy, hydrated lips for a more "wine stained" look depending on the weather.

That is about it for my festive makeup! In essence, it's my everyday makeup with a Christmassy-twist. What is going to be your statement lip colour this year? Or are you going for a different look?

  1. That Lorac palette looks gorgeous, and I must try the Maybelline Master Precise! I'm looking for a new drugstore liquid eyeliner because my Loreal Lineur Intense eyeliner is not working out too well right now. Would you recommend the Revlon Lash Potion for a person who has lashes that don't hold a curl very well? I've heard Fleur from Fleur de Force mention it in a video, and I have always been curious to give it a go.

  8. It an incredible mascara, and I would definitely check if they have a waterproof version as I believe that would hold a curl!

  9. Lovely choices. I just broke the Slate colour in my Lorac palette and even though I didn't use it much, it still broke my little heart.
