My Favourite Liquid Liner

If my memory doesn't fail me, which it so often does, I haven't written a post in reverence of this product before (which is utterly sinful). Winged liner à la Lana Del Rey was one of the huge contributors to my eighteen-year-old self wanting to dabble in makeup and thus the trial and error of finding the liner that is "just right" commenced. Liquid liner is my weapon of choice and at the rate I go through them I'm not on board to invest, which is where the incredible Maybelline Master Precise comes into play.

This liner has an ultra thin, tapered nib that is perfect for getting into the inner corner, but with a little added pressure also creates quite a thick line. This means that with some practice you can do the lining portion of your eye in a matter of a sweep or two. The wing, however, still remains a little tricky even with a product as great as this, but the style of the applicator definitely helps with getting a sharp and fine point.

The formulation is amazing. It's super black with one coat, but not as liquid as other super-opaque formulas so a sudden blink will not ruin your hard work. Once this liner sets it's not going to crack or budge from oily lids alone (especially when paired with a primer), however it is not waterproof and I have lost my wings before from tears. This might be down to eye shape and my wings beginning quite close to my outer corner, however it is not messy and seems to fade rather than run.

I highly recommend this liner to beginners or lovers of the liquid format. What liquid eyeliner would you recommend to me?

The Drugstore '90's Lip'

Australis is a brand most Australian girls will know well. It's super affordable, comes out with on-trend colours and products while also maintaining a really great quality. Their lip products have always been what stood out to me most due to some really out there shades that other drugstore-type brands just weren't offering in Australia.

I have been looking hard and trying lots of different shades that seem to make the cut when it comes to the perfect Kylie Jenner-esq lip, but I always find them being slightly more on the pink side with barely any brown undertones to them. Australis's lip pencil in the shade 'Tickled Pink' seems overwhelmingly brown on first swatch, the same way MACs 'Whirl' is, and leaves you wondering how it will actually look on the lips. It looks amazing - very 90's, very Kylie and the perfect balance between the brown and pink tones.

Upon first application the pencil does feel like it pulls and is overly waxy, however that seems to be a coating as after the first use it became very creamy but with still the right amount of tackiness that suggests that it will be long wearing. The formula is matte and the same rules apply as with most lip liners - exfoliate and moisturise before application. I find that applying the liner first and adding a little clear balm over the top on dry lip days works a treat if you're not too fussed about the matte look and still want to rock the colour.

The Review: Rimmel Scandal Eyes 'Nude'

This is a product I had heard so many people rave about yet I avoided picking up due to the mentality that it would be 'useless'. This is usually how my brain works when it comes to things that are nude, however I was definitely wrong and this product makes all the difference in my routine!

The Rimmel Scandal Eyes pencils are mega creamy and create no drag on the eye whatsoever while delivering complete pigment. They are just a stunning product and something that you would want to build up a collection of as they are a great go-to pencil liner. In my collection I currently have nude, black and a gorgeous silver. While the nude and black are reserved for my water and tight line, the silver I have used sheered out over the lid as a shadow. While this isn't their purpose, I imagine that it would work for any shade in the collection as they all have the same buttery texture that sets after application.

The nude shade has to be my favourite as it really does help in brightening up my forever tired looking under eyes. If you have tired eyes or even just redness in the water line, I strongly recommend this as it's a very quick, cheap way to make a lot of difference to your every day makeup.

The Review: Garnier Micellar Water

This is a product I rave about and recommend whenever makeup removers come up. While this is an obvious dupe for Bioderma, I've never actually had to try it because of how well the Garnier one works. When a product goes above and beyond I always get a little nervous to try anything else in case it's a let down, so I've been sticking firmly to Garnier's Micellar Water.

I don't wear waterproof eye makeup, but I'm often found sporting heavy winged eyeliner and lashings of mascara. Soaking a cotton pad in this and pressing it to the eye area for just a few seconds and finishing with a firm swipe leaves barely a trace. Another swipe with a fresh cotton pad would do the trick to remove everything completely, but in terms of a makeup remover before a second cleanse one soaked cotton pad usually does the trick.

I strongly recommend this to anyone who wants a good makeup remover or anyone looking for a cheaper alternative to Bioderma. What is the best micellar water you've tried?

Rita Ora for Rimmel Nail Polishes

First and foremost, it's story time. These were something I'd been lusting after ever since I saw Suzie from Hello October wear 'Breakfast In Bed' in a vlog a month or two back. Instantly I searched online and found nothing but links to UK beauty suppliers that didn't ship internationally. A few weeks later on a browse through the ASOS beauty department they were spotted and I was so excited, but in the process of finding something else to bump up the $30 free shipping rule I saw an Instagram post from Rimmel AU signalling their impending release. I decided to wait, and a week before the release date I was happily surprised when I saw them displayed.

I finally had in my hands the much coveted "Breakfast In Bed" and I have never had a blue so milky! It is just such a pretty shade, think the effect of Essie 'Fiji' but blue - so perfect all year, but stunning in summer with a tan. It looks so flattering on the nails and I want to wear it forever, basically. Next I decided on "White Hot Love" because all of my white polishes either take 4 coats or chip after a day or two wear. This didn't disappoint in the slightest and has a pearlescence to it that isn't really detectable on the nails, but it definitely isn't as flat as the other whites I have tried.

When it comes to formulation the Rimmel polishes are some of my favourites. I own so many different shades, they are definitely the majority in my collection. The 60 Seconds formula in particular is amazing, not quite 60 seconds since I tend to put on thicker coats, but pretty damn close. These are dry to the touch on one hand by the time you've finished painting the other. With a topcoat they both lasted for the better part of the week, "Breakfast In Bed" lasting the longest on me. I highly recommend these polishes to anyone and the formulation is the best I've found especially for the price.

What other colours from this collection would you recommend? I think I want them all!
