The Body Shop's 'Instablur' primer claims to do five things; control shine, reduce pores, hide blemishes, even complexion and extend makeup wear. While I'm on the fence about the shine reduction, I'm giving everything else a big thumbs up. If you love a silicon based primer as much as I do, you will love this as it smooths over the skin filling in pores along the way. I won't go so far as to say pores disappear, but they are definitely extremely reduced.
I apply a little of this under the eyes as well and it makes applying concealer a dream. Any product, anywhere on the face just applies so much more nicely with this on. It definitely has the "blurring" effect that it's name suggests, as redness and blemishes do look a little more faint once this primer has been applied.
If you've been eyeing this off I would definitely recommend giving it a go. People can be picky with primers, but I definitely think this is a great all-rounder for every day if you want to save your more expensive products from everyday use.
What is your favourite pore-hiding primer?
I really like this too - it gives skin a lovely matte finish and I recommend it :)

Sounds amazing, I should try it!

Sounds great - i'm tempted to pick this up soon :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite primer at the moment is definitely the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser, i find it really helps lessen the look of pores ^^
It sounds good! I like Benefit The Porefessional and Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch. Have you tried any of them? If so, do you think the Body Shop's is better? :)

Thanks for the review! I've been wanting to try something like this for quite some time. I love a smooth primer so makeup stays on evenly (and for longer).

Have you tried the porefessional primer? I really enjoy that one, but I'd love to give this one a try if it's similar because it's more reasonably priced! xo

I really want to try the porefessional but I wanted to try this first because as you said it's much more reasonably priced! x
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'd love this then, it feels super, super smooth!
ReplyDeleteI haven't actually tried them, actually! VelvetGh0st on youtube says that she likes this more than the Porefessional, though, which is why I picked this up! x
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for this to be launched where I live because it sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! x
ReplyDeleteI never used to either, only for special occasions, but I'm trying to get into the habit.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing! x
ReplyDeleteI have to get my hands on this! It sounds SO so good! xx

This sounds amazing! I don't actually have a favourite primer - maybe this will be it :)

Maybe! I don't know if I've tried enough to call it a "favourite", but I have never gotten along with a primer like I have this one!
ReplyDeleteI was trying to decide between that and this one, I would love to try the tea tree one at some point too, though.
ReplyDeletei love reading reviews like this before i buy products, thanks for testing it out!

No problem! I'm sure you'll love it. x
ReplyDeleteThanks! And I'll definitely check out your blog. x
ReplyDeleteThis feels similar to the Smashbox one in terms of texture, but I definitely think I liked the feel of the Smashbox one more as it was a bit thicker. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative, though, definitely give this a try!

ReplyDeleteMe too, blogger reviews are the best.
ReplyDeleteI am using The PORE-fressional by Benefit at the moment but the bottle is finishing and I think its time to experiment!
