Your Lips But Better: Mauvey-Toned Pinks
The classic "Your Lips But Better" shade seems to be the colour we all gravitate towards when it comes to lip products. I find myself picking up so many of these slightly-mauve pinks that it's kind of a problem. In a way it's illogical - why would you want a shade that looks like you're wearing nothing let alone twenty? I guess it's the same as taking away the flush from your cheeks to only add blusher, but I'm definitely not complaining.
Featured above are three of my favourite products when it comes to achieving the YLBB look. Rimmel's Exaggerate lipliner in "063 -Eastend Snob", Kate Moss for Rimmel lipstick in "103" and the Maybelline Color Elixir in "Mauve Mystique." Coincidentally, these three actually work beautifully together, but standalone they are all equally as great depending on what look you're going for.
What is your favourite YLBB colour?
These all just look so pretty! x

They all look gorgeous, especially the lip liner! xx
ReplyDeleteIt's such a pretty colour! x
ReplyDeleteThey are both a super similar colour to the lipliner, so I'm sure you'd love them! x
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. I have the Kate Moss lipstick in 104, which is more of a dusty pink/mauve color - but still beautiful. I do find the formulation a bit drying though...
ReplyDeleteI find the formula of mine a little drying too, I reserve it for good lip days so it applies smoothly and I mix it with some lip balm which kind of defeats the purpose of a matte but makes it much more wearable.

I love the Kate Moss lipsticks, they're so pigmented, but unlike the commenter bellow I don't find them that drying! Maybe I'm just lucky...x

I have the same Rimmel 103 :3 Great for everyday, but Rimmel 150 "Piccadilly Pink" is my ultimate YLBB shade!
ReplyDeleteMy YLPP is the soap&glory sexy mother pucker in nudist. Doesn't last very long, but it's moisturizing and it looks great ;-)
ReplyDeleteWould love to see swatches on you! Thanks for Kylie Jenner, I've been obsessed with this sort of shade lately!

It's so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about doing swatches but I was having a bad lips day and really didn't want to showcase them with a matte lip! I'll definitely keep this in mind for next time I do anything lip related, though!
ReplyDeleteThat shade is beautiful! They only sell the S&G bath products here and it breaks my heart, their makeup line look amazing.
ReplyDeleteI just googled swatches and it's beautiful! I was a little stuck on which moisture renew colour to try, but if I see this I'll definitely pick it up!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely lucky! It's not awfully drying, but definitely makes my lips look more dry if I haven't exfoliated them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful girl,I love your style totally

LOL. That is really philosophical debate. But I think it is because, people want to look like a better version of their natural selves. I forget what makeup artist said this, but it went something along the lines of this "Good makeup, is when you can't even tell the person is wearing makeup".
ReplyDeleteGreat post.
