Nude Perfection

Nudes are such a tricky thing, more so than any other lip colour. I avoided them for so long because I could never find a shade that suited my skin tone - they all looked too much like I'd applied foundation to my lips. However, this Maybelline Color Drama velvet lip pencil in 'Nude Perfection' is a shade I feel would suit a lot of skin tones, especially those in that tricky fair-skin area.

It is deeper than the average nude and has a pinky brown tone to it that is flattering on even super fair skin. This is definitely one to try if you're in the same boat as me and struggle when it comes to finding that perfect nude shade, especially since the Maybelline Color Drama formula is one of my all time favourites. They are ultra pigmented, smooth, creamy and just a dream to apply due to the formula and the format. I have also seen a few comparisons of this shade to MAC's coveted Velvet Teddy, but as I don't own this shade I can't say for sure!

What is your favourite nude of all time?

  4. A brown infused nude seems to work on my skin, too, especially when paired with a dark smokey eye. And I love that these are affordable. And the stick form. And... well, I think I´ll have to get one.

  9. I definitely want them to bring out more colours too! There are too many brights for my personal taste, and I think some more neutral/wearable shades would be amazing.

  23. This looks like a nude I'd love! I agree that I always feel like I look foundation-lipped in nudes, so when you find the good 'uns you can't help but keep repurchasing!
