The Review: Avéne Eye Contour Cream

My eyes are my problem area, and for this reason I am always exhaustively trying out concealers and eye creams hoping to fix what I am not willing to admit is probably just a hereditary problem. This is probably the first eye cream I've picked up that wasn't targeted at dark circles, but I wanted to give it a shot anyway as it claims to be soothing and gentle on the eyes - which is exactly what a good eye cream should do.

The Avéne eye contour cream is a really great, standard eye cream. It isn't for ageing skin, it doesn't have a ton of promises, it just aims to hydrate and soothe. This simple claim is easily met, and this really does leave my under eyes feeling plump and moisturised. The cream doesn't sink in completely, leaving almost a barrier, that keeps the eye feeling hydrated throughout the day. When applying makeup on top, this "barrier" aids in concealer application.

Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a really standard, universal eye cream. It's great for first time users, or younger people who don't really want anything too fancy or anything age-fighting just yet.

What is your favourite eye cream of all time? And how do you tackle dark circles?

  9. I need an eye cream as soon as possible because I'm now having problems with my eyes. Haha. I've been sleeping in the wee hours of the morning and it's obviously negatively affecting my eyes. :( I have dark circles under my eyes right now and even though this doesn't target dark circles, I would still like to try this one out. xx

  10. Is this eye cream suitable even for sensitive eyes? My eyes are very sensitive and I can't even wear a eyeliner on my waterline. Sometimes even the mascara can start some problems :D

  11. Something that hydrates my eye area would be perfect! It's great that it's not really for aging skin so that anyone can use it. Lovely review :) Rebecca | Rebecca Marie xx

  13. This eye cream is actually marketed for sensitive eyes, if you look closely towards the bottom of the packaging it says so! Avene is definitely a brand to look into if you have ultra sensitive skin and eyes, as most of their products are marketed that way I believe! x

  14. This is more just to get that hydration in there so your concealers and correctors apply smoothly and don't look all dry and cakey. However, I too am in the market for something that reduces puffiness/darkness, but I really haven't seen anything stand out as of yet. Let me know if you do! x
