The Perfect Nude

Nude lips are something I have struggled with for awhile now. Much like a contour powder, there seems to be a different "perfect" shade for each complexion and it takes a lot of trial and error to find it. Because of the natural pigmentation of my lips, nudes just didn't seem to work on me. The rosiness would come through, they'd look patchy or they were too light or dark for my complexion. I had never loved or even liked a nude until I tried the Rimmel Moisture Renew lipstick in 'Notting Hill Nude'.

This colour is unlike any I've seen before. It has peachy undertones that still give colour to the lips, while also looking very neutral. The formulation of these lipsticks is beyond, and I have raved about them before with my first purchase, "Dark Night Water-Loops". They are creamy, opaque, one-swipe wonders and smell incredible - like cake. They aren't the longest lasting lipsticks due to their incredibly creamy and sheeny formula, but they tick every other box and are so easy to apply it isn't an issue for me.

These are hands down Rimmel's best formula, and that is saying something as I am a huge fan of the Kate Moss for Rimmel lipsticks. These are just better, at least to me, and I wish they would extend their shade range as some of the colours aren't to my taste so I can't fulfil my hoarder needs and collect them all.

Have you tried the Rimmel Moisture Renew lipsticks, and if so what is your favourite shade?

  1. I still haven't bought any of these! Gah, I really should check them out, but then again I already have way too many lipsticks! This nude shade looks lovely though, I can imagine it being very flattering because of its peachy tones. Pale, pink-toned nudes look horrendous on me.

I'm an NC20 usually, depending on the time of year, so it should work for your colouring as well! x

  25. Uhhh I feel you. I'm a milk chocolate complexion, and any "nude" color just winds up looking too peachy on me. I think it's because my lips don't have much pink to them. It's hard! You should have tried this on. It would have given me inspiration to find my nude!
