The Hyper Sharp Liner
The Review: Rimmel Scandal Eyes 'Nude'
This is a product I had heard so many people rave about yet I avoided picking up due to the mentality that it would be 'useless'. This is usually how my brain works when it comes to things that are nude, however I was definitely wrong and this product makes all the difference in my routine!
The Rimmel Scandal Eyes pencils are mega creamy and create no drag on the eye whatsoever while delivering complete pigment. They are just a stunning product and something that you would want to build up a collection of as they are a great go-to pencil liner. In my collection I currently have nude, black and a gorgeous silver. While the nude and black are reserved for my water and tight line, the silver I have used sheered out over the lid as a shadow. While this isn't their purpose, I imagine that it would work for any shade in the collection as they all have the same buttery texture that sets after application.
The nude shade has to be my favourite as it really does help in brightening up my forever tired looking under eyes. If you have tired eyes or even just redness in the water line, I strongly recommend this as it's a very quick, cheap way to make a lot of difference to your every day makeup.
What is your favourite eyeliner brand in terms of being used the water/tight line?

Silver Linings
Am I a gold or silver kind of girl? Silver, one hundred percent, but when it comes to incorporating it into my makeup routine I am always at a loss. I am a gold/bronze/anything neutral kind of girl in that perspective, but I feel like I'm missing out on so many looks when I exclude my silver-toned products from the exclusivity of my makeup bag.
Smokey eyes are something I could write a personal history on. Back when I first started going on nights out I would rely solely on two staple shadows, a silver and a matte black, for my eye looks. Now I steer clear from them and focus on deep browns. I can't believe I have gotten less bold with practice! This Maybelline palette my sister gifted me is full of stunning, pigmented shades packed full of sparkle and perfect for a night out - yet I haven't touched it for more than a swatch every now and then because I'm scared. I feel ridiculous even typing that sentence out.
There is something to chic about the idea of silver eyeliner to me and a myriad of different ways to incorporate it into my routine instantly spring into my head. Once again, I haven't been so daring! One way I am dying to try is to accent a classic cat eye with a small edging of silver - I cannot think of anything so stunning. Another is to line my bottom lash line to add a subtle pop. These are "baby steps" and things I should definitely force myself to try the next time I'm going out.
Most of my issue is the fact that when an opportunity to wear these colours arises I am in such a rush I don't have time to experiment, in case I have to start over, I just want a go-to look that I know suits me and I can complete in a flash.
Is there a colour you adore but are terrified to work with? A product, even? I need to know I'm not the only one scared of makeup.
The Perfect Cateye
When I'm wearing a cat eye I always get asked how I achieved it or how I got the lines so neat. Besides from the fact that I'm a perfectionist and don't wear winged liner unless I know I have the time to get it looking crisp and even, my tools are a big, big help in getting the look I'm after. After trying a lot of liners I've found products that I really love and have my technique down pat.
The most important part is an amazing liner. Everyone has their preferences, and while I've been trying to get into gel lately, nothing can beat liquid pen liners for me. My favourite is the Maybelline Master Precise liner. The nib is super fine and you can get any width of line you so desire! The liner is very, very dark and goes on opaque with one coat. The best part of all is how cheap it is - I don't think I'd ever have to buy a high-end liner with this in my stash.
Making mistakes is inevitable. While one day you might get perfect liner in one go and be out the door, other days you're smudging, making lines to thick and going in the complete wrong direction. For those days, my tiny bottle of Simple eye make-up remover paired with cotton buds is my secret weapon. As an overall eye-makeup remover I'm not sold, but just to neaten up those lines it's a dream. You can really shape the liner into the look you desire using this method, even if you think you've ruined it completely!
Finally is the step that really pulls the whole look together. If you look closely after completing the lid part of the liner you'll notice a space around where the lash line and tight line meet that hasn't been coated in liner. If you don't like tight lining, don't worry, this line is relatively undetectable especially if you have lots of thick lashes to distract from it. However, if you do want that pesky space filled, tight line with any liner of your choice. Instantly your liner looks darker and your lashes fuller! My favourite for this trick is the Rimmel Scandal Eyes pencil as it's super smooth on such a delicate area and doesn't tend to move around.
