Tumblr Inspo #12

I have had all of these pictures sitting in a folder for the longest time waiting for my next Tumblr Inspo post, so I thought it was about time that I put them all together and give my usual spiel about what's been going on in my life. Largely I was saving this post for the day I did my driving test, because it has been a goal I've shared here multiple times and couldn't wait to update you guys on the progress.

I got my licence! As a 20 year old living in Melbourne, Australia it is (kind of) rare to not have your license by now. This is something I have struggled with since I was 16 and got my learners permit. First I struggled to find time to drive at all, then I struggled with actually getting the hours up as I was only going on minuscule drives and then I wasn't driving at all for a huge two years. In December of 2014 I started driving again and luckily picked it back up quickly. It's now March of 2015 and I have my licence!

I am beyond excited and just wanted to share this snippet of my life with you guys as it was my #1 goal of 2015 and I completed it in the first three months - which feels awesome. How has your week been?

It's been an incredibly hot summer week, and as the summer rains come down ruining my potential pool party prospects for the night, I thought I'd sit down and write this post. I missed summer, swimming and the beach so much - which is weird. Never in my life have a been a summer person, until now.

Last summer was so fun that it just set me up for excitement this year. I love swimming and hanging by the pool all day, for days in a row in the middle of heatwaves. It was so relaxing and just made me appreciate the season. The weather has really peaked the last couple weeks, and I've been doing exactly that - spending time by the pool. I think it's clear from my image selections that I've been thinking of the beach and the sea.

Are you a summer baby or a winter lover?

Today was a twenty seven degree spring day and I was unfortunately inside watching the world go by from my window as I studied for my upcoming exams. My fingers are crossed that it doesn't get too warm until after my exams are done and dusted so I can enjoy the hot weather.

I am never usually excited for summer as it can be quite hard to deal with in Australia, days shooting well into the forties sometimes. However, I miss the beach and can't wait to start swimming and laying out again so hopefully this year is more manageable than the last.

I have been spending a lot of time getting blog posts together for while I'm busy studying and have really gotten into the hang of scheduling things. I'm aiming to post every second day from now on, especially once my time frees up a little more in the summer break. I have been putting a lot of thought into my blog and I am so excited to be able to work on it more. I want to freshen up the design, work on my content and maybe even look into getting a better quality camera. Nothing is more exciting to me than the prospect of improving my content as it's something I think is so, so important.

How is the weather in your part of the world and what steps are you taking to improve your blog?

It's been a busy week full of back to school prep which is honestly the best part of going back to uni (stationary!). I've been spending time with friends, queuing some blog posts for when things get hectic and overall just enjoying the last days of the holidays. I officially went back today but only had one lecture to tackle, so it was a very easy way to start the second half of the year.

I've been having a lot of me time and getting back into things that I had kind of neglected the first half of the year. I was too comfortable in my music niche and honestly didn't listen to much of it. But I've been spending ages trawling through Spotify, which is a godsend, and building up fun playlists and spending time discovering a lot of new bands and catching up on what I've missed from my old favourites. I've also taken a lot of time to write, which is a major hobby of mine, and something I never really neglect completely, but I have been doing a lot more of it.

It's been amazing to catch up with a lot of friends who have opposite schedules to you making it impossible to hang out in the school year without meticulous planning and execution. I've found that the friends that have lasted since high school are those who I can pick up with right where we left of without there being any weirdness.

This has been a huge ramble, but I honestly find these posts so fun and calming to write. As always, there is a lot of the Kardashian and Jenner clan for you to feast your eyes upon, but they are killing it lately (but I say that every month!). I hope all of your months/weeks/days are going great. If you'd like to, please link me your Tumblrs - I'm always looking for new people to follow.

Note: I wrote this post a week or two back and forgot to publish it, that's why I'm talking about school as though I just started.

Look for Less: Celine Inspired Tote

I am a big believer in the difference between 'fake' and 'inspired' for the reason that I don't think you should have to shell out thousands just to achieve a look you love. When it comes to the fashion industry designs aren't protected and almost everything is inspired somewhat by a  high-end designer. This happens all the time and I am sure all of us own 'inspired' items without even realising it!
However, if a piece is claiming to be Celine or Chanel when it isn't, this is where 'fake' comes in. This isn't a petty "Wow she has a fake Chanel!" it is a serious enough offence to be illegal.

While scouring the internet for a look-a-like bag, I found Daily Look's 'Large Structured Handbag'. This bag is almost identical to the Celine luggage tote, the bag I had in mind, but without any of the branding.
The quality of this bag is amazing! I lug it everywhere, including university, and it holds my texts and laptop without feeling as though the handles are about to snap like a lot of my other totes. It has also held it's shape perfectly which is an issue I've had with a lot of my other "structured" totes.
One of my favourite details is the tan suede-like interior. It adds such a subtle touch but it makes all the difference to me, especially because it's so much easier to find what I'm looking for!

I would highly recommend this to anyone who is lusting after a Celine bag and worrying about the price tag!
