TOURIST AT HOME:SYDNEY
These past weeks have been a whirlwind of travel, work and school. A close friend I made while abroad in Europe made the long journey to Australia to visit me over her summer break, which called for a bit of touristing not only in my own city, but across the country. Sydney is such a stunning city and one I would love to relocate to if I do settle down in Australia. It has an atmosphere and an aesthetic that I adore and feel at home among, one that I can't quite locate in Melbourne. The beaches were stunning, the city was stunning - I just loved everything about it.
WHAT'S IN MY BAG
'What's in my bag' posts and videos have a very special place in my heart as they were my first introduction to the online beauty community. I remember back in 2006 (for my sanity, let's not even reflect on how long ago that was) I would come home from school and spend my time watching these kinds of videos - namely rewatching as YouTube definitely didn't have the variety it does now back in the day. There is some addictive quality about them, and I'm sure everyone reading this has a similar story about their introduction to the beauty community, or simply an addiction to watching them!
The Sunday Post: Get To Know Me
When I created my first blog way, way back before Nueyork and before I ever wore makeup, I was much bolder and out there with who I was. It was basically a lifestyle blog with pictures of me and what I was doing, which has since been deleted in a fit of embarrassment. In staring Nueyork I was aiming for an anonymous blog from the get go. I had this acute fear that someone I know might find it and even to this day, no one in my personal life really knows about my blog.
The Fix for Essie Fiji
Essie's Fiji is famous for good reason, a beautiful, milky pink that just looks lovely on the nails. It's also notorious for being streaky and extremely difficult to apply. For me it takes around three very thick coats for it too look semi-decent and even then it chips or peels off within a day or two. It's just an unpleasant experience that I keep putting myself through because I love the shade so, so much - it seems like everyone else puts up with it as well!
An Introduction to Sukin
Summer Favourites
Summer is over and my heart is a little bit broken because of it. I had a particularly incredible summer this year, full of swimming, sun and the beach and I'm sad to see it go and to get back into the usual uni routine. I thought in honour of summer, I would do a special edition 'favourites' this month to see it out. Here are a collection of products that I loved this summer and are perfect for anyone going into the summer time where they live.
Hello February
I think reflection is such an important skill to develop, and it's something that every one should really master. We can learn so much from what we've experienced, and even if there is no clear lesson to absorb, just taking in the way things have panned out can provide us with knowledge we may not have even known we needed.
The Review: Model Co Hydrating Moisturiser
I have been intrigued by Model Co's skincare line since it was launched late last year. However, my skincare routine is quite unchanging, so I just stuck to my regular trusted products. At a friends house when given the opportunity to try it out once off I gave the Model Co Hydrating Day & Night Moisturiser a go and it was love at first application.
